YouTube Stories Now Available for 10k+ Subscriber Channels!

In December 2017, YouTube announced they were releasing their own micro-stories platform (similar to Instagram Stories, Snapchat, and Facebook Stories) called YouTube Reels. It’s only been available for larger channels, but now, any channel with 10,000 or more subscribers can join in – and the platform has rebranded itself as YouTube Stories.

YouTube Stories is accessible on the YouTube mobile app, and each Story will be available to your fans for 7 days. Here’s how to use it:

  • Open the YouTube mobile app and tap on the Video Camera icon
  • Select “Create Story”, film or upload content, and add text, music, filters, stickers or more to jazz it up.

That’s it! Simple, right?

Fans can now comment on stories, as well, making this a great way to increase subscriber engagement – ask for your fans’ feedback on what they want to see! You can add links to your YouTube Story, so use it to share short-term deals with your fans, promote giveaways, attract new fans, and more.

Stories may show up to subscribers on their Subscription tab, and to non-subscribers on their Home page & Up Next list below your videos. Let your fans know that you’re using YouTube Stories, so they know to check for exclusive content there.
