Revenue Optimization: Say WHAT?

Posted: September 22, 2016

For the average YouTuber, trying to figure out commissions, plugins, sponsorships and other forms of revenue streams can be… Labyrinthine, to say the least! Read on for a quick primer on the basics of PPC & PPS commissions and link optimization.

Most stores that partner with MagicLinks offer flat Pay Per Sale (PPS) commissions on entire purchases through your link, i.e. 10% or 15% of an entire shopping cart’s value. Every time a subscriber clicks on one of your links, then purchases anything at the linked merchant’s site, you get a commission on the entire value of the final purchase.

Why don’t your profits show up instantly? Depending on the merchant, commissions can take up to 60 days to reflect on your Performance Reports page, and can be adjusted by the merchant if a return is made on a purchase.

*Please note: When a click goes PPS, you only earn a commission if the click results in a sale.*

PPC, or Pay Per Click, means a merchant pays a flat fee every time a subscriber clicks on one of your links, regardless of whether or not they make a purchase. Over time, this can really add up!

For example, if a merchant is offering $0.10 PPC, and you get 1,000 clicks, that’s an easy $100, just for creating one link.

Link Optimization:

MagicLinks unique programming works for you to create the optimum balance of PPC, flat commission rates and other special offers. That balance updates in real-time every time one of your links is clicked on, to give you the best commission options 24/7.

For example: If a better commission or PPC rate is available on the same product at a different store two days after you create and post a link, your MagicLink automatically redirects to the new store. This happens every time a link is clicked on – and because MagicLinks are evergreen, they never expire and you’ll make commissions on the same link for… well, years!

Customize Your Link Optimization

Want one of your links, or all your links to a specific store, to stay the way they were when you created them? Click the “Preferences” tab on your Create Links page and select the store(s) you want to keep PPC-free.

*MagicLinks recommends keeping Link Optimization on for all of your links, however, because it guarantees you the most optimal blend of PPS and PPC, 24/7.*
